dDub - Limited Edition Winter Tour EP

Those who know of this group just can't help but have a soft spot dDUB who appear to have been dwarfed by the success of other local dub outfits like Salmonella Dub, and have been fairly quiet as far as having much of a profile is concerned in the music scene.
dDUB have usually produced a mix of reggae/dub styles with the odd ballad, and the Limited Edition Winter Tour EP demonstrates this perfectly. Beginning with the perky Give Up Your Love, which has a high paced ska flavour, this track probably deserved more radio play than it received.
The next track Give It Some dives into dub and keeps a well-paced groove going throughout. It's one of their best tracks by far that I played over and over several times and still didn't get tired of hearing it.
From there, the pace kicks back a little into a cruise with the ballad "Strange", and ends with two live tracks including the excellent "Juju Mama", which just had me day-dreaming about anywhere but the confines of my office on a nice day outside... The Limited Edition Winter Tour EP is a well-produced little CD.
