It took five years to create the debut Opensouls album Kaleidoscope, which originally started as sketches back in 2001 on Ota's MPC2000.
Ota aka Jeremy Toy, pulled together a remarkable group of musicians over those years. The Opensouls band are Bjorn Petersen and Tyra Hammond [vocals], Chip [bass], Isaac Aesili [trumpet], Scott Towers [sax], Steph Brown [keyboards], Buttafingers [turntables], Julien Dyne [drums] and Jeremy himself [guitar/MPC2000]...

hey opensouls peeps do y'all stil read this thread?
i bought the dollars 7inch when it came out, rawks.
it came with a neat little piece of paper that has a code on it so i can download mp3s of the tracks on the 7inch (dollars and sweetlove) - which is a mighty fine idea and should totally be the norm when it comes to vinyl releases. but - i just tried to do the download bizz and it turns out the page (www.opensouls.co.nz/downloads) doesn't exist?! what gives? is it just coz i'm a slowass? is there a way i can get my tracks? share the love OS!

Good point re:mp3 that track. However, it strictly speaking, is not an opensouls track but one by The Tornadoes ft Tyra Hammond. Semantics I know but explains to a degree why it hasn't been released in mp3 format. I will def pass this on to the cat who looks after the Tornadoes to let him know that maybe we should chuck the track up.
