Maven Waihi Beach Mardi Gras set to be a huge day out!

The Maven Waihi Beach Mardi Gras is really coming together with the final plans now in place for an event that will be remembered long after the last glass of wine has been poured. New Zealand's biggest street party is planned for the last weekend in February and is the perfect way to celebrate the New Zealand summer lifestyle according to Maven Wine's General Manager Phill Dagger.
Maven is not about stuffy wine tradition and snobbery, The Maven team prides itself on making high quality, distinctive wine, but they also know that wine is about sharing great experiences with friends and family…to them wine isn't about confusing 'wine speak' and dusty old wine cellars, it's about great music, plenty of sunshine and fantastic food.
As an extension of this belief Maven has aligned itself with a range of exciting New Zealand events that deliver on the promise of sharing great times. Maven is the key sponsor of the annual Whitianga Scallop Festival and the Great Fitzroy Mussel Festival on Great Barrier Island and, for the first time this year Maven will sponsor the annual Waihi Beach Mardi Gras.
This year's event on 23 February will feature sensational music from the Recliner Rockers and Batucada Sound Machine, Lookie Loos and Zeroas well as a variety of local food and of course plenty of Maven Wine. "We're delighted to support the Maven Waihi Beach Mardi Gras this year; I can't think of a better way to celebrate summer than with a few glasses of wine listening to great music in a carnival atmosphere" commented Phill Dagger.
Maven will be serving its full range of award winning wines at the festival which runs from 4pm to 9pm in the Waihi Beach Village. Look out for their award winning Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc which has just received a great review in the 'The Times' in London where head Wine Critic Jane MacQuitty wrote "I can see a stampede developing for Maven Sauvignon Blanc". We can see a stampede developing for Mardi Gras tickets too with the 4,000 tickets already selling out quickly. Tickets are available from Hammer Hardware, Flatwhite Café and the Porch all in Waihi Beach.
