Buda and Mestar sign to Arch Hill

Buda and Mestar sign to Arch Hill

Arch Hill is very pleased to announce the addition of two new acts to the label. They both have releases all teed up and ready for the new 2006 year.

Luke Buda
Luke Buda, better known for his work as part of the Phoenix Foundation will be releasing a full length album entitled Special Surprise.  Luke is responsible for many great Phoenix Foundation songs, including Going Fishing from Horsepower and Sea World from Pegasus.

The mixing of Special Surprise is almost finished, with Lee Prebble [Trinity Roots, Phoenix Foundation and more] at the controls. It is scheduled for a February 06 release.

MESTAR too…!
Mestar have been one of the best kept secrets in local indie music for a while…but those that know and love Mestar's music REALLY know it, and REALLY love it….and that includes us here at Arch Hill. Mestar started in 1996 and have kept the same line up (John White, Stefan  Bray and Ian Wilson) since their inception – in fact, such is the magic of this line up that when Ian moved to France for a year or so, they knew no other drummer would match John's brilliant songs, or Stefan's stripped back bass and tuneful harmonies, so they remained in suspension until his return.

In the meantime, John kept himself busy with his beautifully melancholic solo albums Balloon Adventure and touring with Cloudboy (in Europe) Stefan evolved into the beautiful electro-etherial Stefanimal

Well, now Ian is back and Mestar haven't wasted any time. They recently completed a very successful tour with Ghostplane – and have just recorded their third album with Dale Cotton. The album was tracked and (mostly) mixed in six days, and every song is an urgent noisy indie-pop gem.
