833 Records
833 was founded in August of 2001 as a record label in West Auckland used to promote and nurture local talent whilst educating them about the ins-and-outs of the music industry. Founded by Mark Thomson, and later joined by Andre Mortimer, 833's first project was a compilation of West Auckland Hiphop artists called 'West Steez', it was in turn part funded by the Waitakere City Council, and paved the way for several artists like Usual Suspects to become more established on the Hiphop scene nationally.
833 itself is primarily focused on teaching the youth the fundamentals and benefits of Hiphop and it's lifestyle.
