ARTIST: Madeleine Lane
Madeleine Lane is a New Zealand singer-songwriter, guitarist and poet from Wellington. An artist with a distinctive low voice a little like Nina Simones in terms of pitch. Madeleine is also an independent music producer and put out her first album To Aotearoa With Love in 2003 (not released commercially but now sold out). Her label is Imagine2 Productions established 2003. A New Zealand guitarist with an unusual style. Using independent thumb picking for bass line while plucking chords and individual strings all very fast!!
Her music genres are varied according to the poems she's written but predominately under blues funk-rock folk categories. She says:
