Our congratulations go out to James Milne aka Lawrence Arabia whose album Chant Darling won the inaugral Taite Music Prize, which was announced at a function on Auckland's waterfront last night.

We've more tour news on site for your consideration, this time it's The Phoenix Foundation heading out on the road in celebration of their soon to be released new album Buffalo.

In the wider world of NZ Music the debate regarding the feelers cover of Jesus Jones song being picked to help promote the Rugby World Cup (link goes to NZ Herald) and over at Blog On The Tracks.

There is also controversy over Derty Sesh's music video (link goes to Public Address) which has now been taken off youtube (NZ Herald) by Move the Crowd his record label have both sparked some amusing and intelligent on and offline debates.

It would be  a sad day if musicians and the art they craft didn't sometimes cause people to talk and think about certain issues, tis a part of making art, or in some cases commerce.

Speaking of commerce if 20,000 of you buy today's featured release our accountant says "that would rock"...
