There is no hump in Wednesday

13.01.10
I've been checking the weather forcast for Friday and its not looking too hot for the Big Day Out, which the boy scout in me suggests something waterproof might be required on the day.
Now like any good hollywood teen flick whilst I assemble my survival kit we need some backing music and today I think Minuit have served up just the thing I need...

Song For Today
Minuit - Aotearoa (Upbeats Remix)
The Upbeats give Minuit's Aotearoa a spankingly good makeover.
Whilst you're checking out the tune you might like to head over here to read about Minuit's trip to Veit Nam last year.
"Our first gig was in Ha Noi. The festival we played at was to raise money for MAG, an NGO in Viet Nam that does de-mining. This is the festivals third year, and getting to play was an adventure in itself.
Before we arrived in Viet Nam we had to send over our lyrics to the 'Cultural Advisers' for approval, and then mp3's of our songs, and then on the morning of the festival, all the bands had to turn up early and play two songs for a row of Ministers sporting bad suits, perpetual cigarettes and clip boards. This was funny - especially as one of the bands playing were instrumental only"
Chart Attack
This weeks chart reflects the post Christmas slumber that takes hold of the country and as such it seems not a whole lot has changed.
Susan Boyle holds tight at number one denying reality TV star Stan Walker top spot - please tell me Stan's success isn't going to herald the return of NZ Idol.
Gin Wigmore debut album is still selling well and is this week sitting at number 4. Shapeshifter are at seven and Midnight Youth jump back into the chart at 12.
Fat Freddy's are at twenty and Dave Dobbyn is at number 22 this week. Salmonella Dub and Ladyhawke are at 29 and 30 respectively and Stroke returns at number 40
The singles chart remains less green than it has been. Stan Walker, Gin and Dane Rumble feature as usual. Ivy Lies is the only new entrant, at number 25 with Addicted.
Santa may have been and onge but The Great NZ Songbook still refuses to stop selling and is at number 4 this week in the compilation chart.
