The office will be hectic today as we ready ourselves for the NZ Music Awards. We'll have the results on the site sometime tomorrow morning (hangovers permitting) and we'll be tweeting during the event; (http://twitter.com/amplifying) for those who are at home or work stuck behind a computer.

Over the past few weeks we've been running a series of polls to gauge what and who you, our respondents, feel should win some of the key awards at this year's ceremony. If our results are in tune with the judges the following will be taking home a Tui:

Best Group: Fat Freddy's Drop
Single of the Year: P-Money - Everything Feat Vince Harder
Album of the Year: Fat Freddy's Drop
 - Dr Boondigga and the Big BW

The People's Choice Award poll closes at midday, with Fat Freddy's looking assured to take out the poll - jump in and have your say.

Release Of The Day
Great North - Soldiers

Great North are an alternative folk/country band whose songs were delivered by angels.

Drunk angels. The kind you don't invite round for fear they will break your teapot or burn their wings while cooking chips.

Soldiers is the sound of Bruce Springsteen having a tumultuous affair with Gillian Welch. Lyrics swing between gung ho bravery and unnerving apocalyptic predictions. All are set to song in the self assured swagger of a band that remembers how much fun it is to make music together.

Have a good music day
Ed
